During February, EVERSANA® and EVERSANA INTOUCH honored and celebrated Black History Month with a series of impactful events and initiatives. This year’s theme was “Continuing the Dream: Honoring the Past, Shaping the Present and Empowering the Future,” which aimed to shed light on the past, present and future of Black individuals.
“We can shape the preset by uplifting one another, supporting Black-owned businesses, joining and speaking up in important conversations, and continuing to create safe spaces for change. We all have such important roles to play, whether that’s mentoring, teaching or passing on knowledge that we’ve learned.” – Martika Chappel, Senior People Specialist and Co-Chair of EVERSANA’s Black Professionals Network.
Throughout the month, EVERSANA’s Black Professionals Network played a pivotal role in organizing and leading various activities for employees. One of the highlights was the Coffee Break Speaker Series, where employees had the opportunity to hear inspiring stories and personal anecdotes from featured speakers Bria Parker, Consultant, Market Research & Insights; Corliss Christopher, Clinical Nurse Coordinator, Patient Services; and Michelle Wilson, Supervisor, Program Management, Patient Services. This series provided a platform for meaningful conversations and reflections on the contributions and experiences of Black individuals.
To further engage employees, a spoken word and poetry session was hosted featuring published authors and poets Lynae B and Nick Austin. During the session, both poets performed pieces they wrote specifically for the event and answered questions about their writing process, their experiences as Black poets and the meanings behind their poems.
“With so much happening in the world around us, it’s crucial that we celebrate our achievements while committing to building a better future – one that guarantees opportunity and equity for generations to come.” – O’Brian Shaw, Art Supervisor and Co-Chair of EVERSANA’s Black Professionals Network.
By honoring Black History Month, we not only recognize the profound contributions of Black individuals but also reinforce our dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace for all employees.
