If you’ve been in advertising for more than a minute, you’ve heard of the Clios. If not, here’s the short version: For more than 60 years, the Clios have feted exceptional creative work from around the world in the fields of advertising, entertainment, fashion, health, music and sports. This year, we’re proud to share that Intouch’s own Ron Larson, VP, creative director in New York, has been selected as a judge for the health category, which makes sense since Ron has won Clios (and other prestigious awards) for his own work — including being named by Lürzer’s Archive as the #1 copywriter internationally in 2020.
Clio Health isn’t as old as the Clios themselves — by about 50 years — but its mission is the same: “to celebrate the work behind wellness.” As Intouch chief creative officer Susan Perlbachs noted recently, “Healthcare (especially pharma) has historically been viewed as having a low-concept approach to advertising. And it’s true, we’ve seen a lot of the same tired metaphors and visuals over the years … Fortunately for us, fortunately for our industry, and fortunately for the patients and healthcare professionals we serve, things are changing.” We’ve seen this play out in our own work on campaigns for Regeneron’s A Beautiful Pair, Shire’s Mydayis and others.
We look forward to seeing this year’s health category winners and wish Ron good luck in choosing his favorite(s). If you’d like to learn more about Ron, visit the Clios health jury page.
No date has been confirmed for the Gold, Silver, Bronze and Shortlist award announcements; Grand winners will be announced during the April 2021 awards show. Get your popcorn ready 🙂
